So, we "cheated" a tad and hired someone to do the insulation and sheetrock... well worth EVERY penny! They finished the insulation in 1 afternoon and the sheetrock in 4 days. These things would have taken us a month! The picture below is the attic space.

Ok, I know this looks weird... But, we moved into the garage. We had a wonderful time staying at the Hilton compound but we were ready for our own space after 11 months of being homeless. I promise, the living conditions aren't as bad as they look! We are actually liking it! The room in the corner is our full bathroom, we have our fridge and a Coleman stove to cook on.
Snow visited SC a couple of weeks ago! Builder Bob, the Snowman, was born before the snow melted!
Master tub. It is damaged and we are STILL dealing with getting it replaced. I suggest NOT using Vintage Tub and Bath. They stink...

I loved the polka dots! Wish we could have kept them. So many people asked about it! They are tinted shellac dots covering knots and sap streaks in the siding.
Here were some of our choices for exterior colors... and the winner is: Rockport Gray from Benjamin Moore.

Exterior of the house as of last week. We've painted the trim since this picture was taken.
First coat of paint in the dining room. It is dark chocolate brown. (Classic Brown by Ben. Moore). I promise it won't look so dark after we put up the wainscoting and crown moulding.
First run of our heart pine flooring! This was taken last night. We worked on the floors until midnight tonight and have much more done.

Wow! The house is looking awesome! And I think your little place in the garage is adorable. I bet it was nice to get into your own space again. I can just picture you and Russ in there cooking up some gourmet meals on the Coleman stove. :)

Fantastic work on your house.
I like the extensive use of wood and tile. When I built my house – I put in as much wood and tile as I could afford at the time. Over the years, I’ve gradually replaced most of the carpeted areas with wood (have used prefinished oak which luckily has matched the original stained wood floors).
Speaking of wood – I see you have used it in the kitchen.
Very wise.
I put in large tile in my kitchen. Looks great! Impervious to spills or damage. Easy to clean and maintain.
But – drop a glass or china – and – CRASH.
I have considerably less plates and glasses than I used too.
